Spring is springing!

Good morning, I cannot believe we are coming to the end of March already but saying that it makes me very happy as my second favourite season is Spring following on from Summer, of course!

The first quarter of 2023 has been manic to say the least in my work life and personal life. My business is booming and I am now fully booked with personal training clients so am opening up a waiting list for those who are interested! I also welcomed my third grandchild and first grandson into the world in January which was amazing and am spending as much of my free time as possible with them as they grow up so fast!

I turned 58 in February and am putting my main focus on working with peri and post menopausal women as this can be a very challenging time in our lives but also can be very rewarding and in my opinion there’s a sense of freedom once you enter this stage of life!

You cannot do what you have always done and expect the same results as you age. You can still be fit, healthy and active but you have to make a few adjustments along the way. This looks different for everyone and there is no diet or exercise regime that suits everybody but I would highly recommend that you start strength training if you haven’t already to combat the loss of muscle mass which is quite substantial in midlife and beyond. You will also need to look at your diet and perhaps reduce alcohol and sugar consumption as these can play havoc with your sleep and general wellbeing especially as an older woman!
