Fat vs muscle

5lbs of fat versus 5lbs of muscle. Muscle doesn’t weigh more than fat, they obviously weigh the same lb for lb  but look at the difference in size. For example, you could weigh 9 stone and wear a size 10 in clothes or weigh 9 stone and wear a size 8 depending on your fat/muscle ratio. You could also weigh more with more muscle but look smaller as your body will be toned and tight as opposed to loose and untoned.

I very rarely weigh myself because I just don’t see the point. What importance is the number on a scale? I want to be fit, strong, toned, flexible and healthy all of which are not measured on a weighing scale. I know by the way my clothes fit and if they start to get tight then maybe I need to change my eating habits slightly or exercise harder but in truth my weight barely changes as I like to eat good food and work out every day.

Too much emphasis is put on how much we weigh and I think it is much healthier to just think about giving your body nutritious food, plenty of exercise, a good amount of rest and as little stress as possible as these all contribute to a fitter, happier body!

Appreciate your body for what it can do for you and stop poisoning it with diet sodas, junk food, lack of exercise and not enough sleep. Your body will respond very positively as soon as you treat it with respect. It is the only place you get to live so take care of it!
