If you are a beginner and need help getting started with an exercise program and some simple nutrition then here are my 6 top tips……
- Start small – Begin with short manageable workouts to build consistency and make you feel like you have achieved something!
- Realistic expectations – Don’t expect too much too soon, this is a way of life not a short term fix!
- Choose something you enjoy doing otherwise it won’t be sustainable from walking to dancing to playing tennis to Pilates to lifting weights, the list is endless!
- Schedule your workouts like you would an important appointment and stick to it otherwise once you start cancelling or postponing it will never happen!
- Cook from scratch – you don’t have to be a good cook to eat healthily, find simple healthy recipes online and off you go!
- Support from those around you is very important so try to get the family involved with regular exercise and healthy eating!
